German manufacturer, Vincentadds a few modern touches to its highly regarded tubeLine with the SV-737. This hybrid amp now has a streaming DAC on board and offersbothWi-Fi and Bluetooth. The box houses two distinct pre and power amp circuits that have been matched perfectly to one another. Vincent has worked oncreatingamatch that offers maximum transparency and spectral stability.
The SV-737 gets its tube stage from theSA-T7 preamplifier, employing its basic principle of two gain blocks with embedded, switchable tone control. There are now two double triodes per channel, andvoltage amplification is provided by 6N2P-EV tubes. Thesehave a characteristic curve that is similar to the well-known ECC83
or 12AX7 yet more linear. In addition, the 6N2P-EV is particularly low in microphony and noise.
With its high-current cathodes, the 6N1P tubes takes over the function of the driver and buffer stage. Voltage regulation, also from the SA-T7 uses an85A2 tube, originally developed forhigh-sensitivity measurement technology. It provides a low-noise and almost hum-free supply voltage in combination with a semiconductor regulator.
