The upgrade from CXN V2 to CXN100 isnt just a subtle change its a complete mechanical redesign, with significant changes made to the analog stage. There are new, more efficient capacitors and op-amps offering a better signal-to-noise ratio and reduced distortion figures.
Charlie Crossley, one of Cambridge Audio’s top engineers, spent hundreds of hours changing and listening to audio-critical components to tune the entire audio stage.
The CXN100 uses an ESS 9028Q2M DAC,which isso good that only one is needed, and also, its on-board timing filter is so advanced that there is no need of a post-DAC filter, simplifying the signal path. The CXN100s firmware can be upgraded remotely, via Cambridge Audio’s StreamMagic app.
