Gisle Pape has been weaving an atypical landscape in contemporary music for several years. Her career has crossed paths with learning the organ, studying cinema at the Ecole Louis Lumire and practicing lighting. She released two first records – Oiseau, a first EP, then a first album, Caillou (2021) – acclaimed by the press (Libration, France Inter, FIP, Tlrama, Charles Cros favorite). She has more than 150 concerts to her credit, including festivals (Francofolies, Francofaune, Primeurs de Massy, Fte de l’Huma), showcases and opening acts (Malik Djoudi, Rone, Requin Chagrin, Laura Cahen, Rodolphe Burger, La Fline, Alex Beaupain, etc.). Gisle Pape is back with a second album, Disquette, a pop album with a strong electronic influence, scheduled for January 2025, mixed by Ash Workman (Metronomy, Christine and the Queens, Malik Djoudi). Now a seasoned producer, Gisle Pape mixes electronic pop compositions with rhythmic and poetic writing. With this new album, she navigates between dance-floor passages, trap rhythms, luminous melodies and catchy choruses, all carried by a voice that is sometimes sensitive and crystalline, sometimes percussive. Committed and optimistic, Disquette invites us to dance on new possible futures, linking the intimate to the political, to better redraw the contours of the word “we”.
