The Reed 3P offers many features including fine VTA adjustment on-the-fly, and even the unique possibility of adjusting azimuth while playing a record. During the azimuth adjustment process, the cartridge swings around the needle tip, hence keeping all other tonearm parameters intact.

The 3P inherits magnetic antiskating and other features from the Reed Mag. The innovative bearing is a gimbal design that acts like a unipivot. However, the major difference from a unipivot system is that instead of a single pivot point, there are three pivots and magnetic stabilizers are used in both the vertical and horizontal axes. Such a bearing system is as rigid as a gimbal, but its friction coefficient is as low as a unipivot’s.
