The Carbon Special Black Label is the pinnacle of Serie S performance in a medium chassis. At its core is a 12″ all carbon-fibre driver paired with a re-engineered passive radiator for breathtaking articulation and depth. Its wider, lower-profile cabinet delivers improved scale and presence while blending seamlessly into refined spaces.

Every Carbon Special Black Label comes fitted with sculpted premium wood grilles as standard, both functional and beautiful. Optional cloth grilles are available for a more understated look. As with all Serie S models, it is Airship Direct ready, offering wireless freedom without sacrificing speed or detail.

The Upscale View

With the outgoing Serie S, the Carbon Special was a limited, souped-up S/812 that was so good, the REL decided to make it the permanent pinnacle of the range. It is the only one of Serie S that uses the all-carbon driver from the Reference Series. This is a driver that combines speed and stiffness like nothing else. The forces on a fast-moving 12″ bass driver are immense, and most drivers flutter like flags in the wind (on a smaller scale, of course) when outputting deep bass at high volume. Either that or they are thick and heavy to withstand these forces.

REL’s secret is to use extremely expensive carbon fiber technology to create a driver that is both light and stiff, and combine that with fast input filters to ensure that every bit of performance is being squeezed out.
