T+A Elektroakustik A 3000 HV Mono/Stereo Power Amplifier

A 300 Wpc amp with huge current delivery and an optional upgrade external PSU.

Designed tobe theideal power amplifier and perfect complement to the P 3000 HV preamplifier, theA 3000 HV can work in stereo or mono mode. In mono itwill delivertwice the current and double the pure Class-A mode.

With the HV preamp, T+A was able to focus on the avoidance of induced and other interference for the small signals,and with a power amp they couldconcentrate on thestability of the power supply, and its current delivery capacity.

The thick aluminum chassis could also be developed specifically for the needs of a power amp.The output stages and mains power supplyare housed intheir own shielded compartment on the bottom. Above a divider that’s a full 10 mm thick, are the more delicate input stages.Voltage amplification and current amplification circuitryare housed on separate circuit boards in separate case sections with galvanic separation between them. Thanks to this uncompromising design philosophy there is no feedback of the loudspeaker currents into the voltage amplifier stages,allowing forcomplete freedom from loudspeaker loading effects.

The Circuits

The voltage amplifier is an extremely linear, broad-band, cross-coupled differential cascode amplifier, followed by a single-ended Class A large signal stage which provides superb sound quality.

The fully symmetrical current amplifier stage (output stage) is fitted with MOSFET drivers and the latest thermal tracking bi-polar output transistors; this combination delivers a very harmonious audiophile sound image combined with tremendous current delivery capacity. The output stage transistors feature integral temperature monitor diodes to maintain the power transistors at an absolutely constant operating point, regardless of temperature. This allows T+A to control the circuits distortion behavior perfectly, regardless of the momentary load. By maintaining full symmetry in the arrangement of all conductors in the output stages, speaker cables and mains power supply there is a complete lack of magnetic stray fields, and no electromagnetic feedback into the input stages.

Tosmoothly supply the massive power of this amp, the loudspeaker terminals are of a particularly high-quality: machined from solid pure brass and rhodium-plated on every surface.
