The Technics SL-50C combines over half a century of direct-drive expertise with modern refinements for todays vinyl listener. At its heart is a coreless, brushless, single-rotor motor that eliminates cogging and ensures stable rotation across 33, 45, and 78 RPM. The die-cast aluminum platter is rib-reinforced for stiffness and paired with a damping mat to reduce resonance, while the MDF plinth provides a solid, vibration-controlled foundation.
An S-shaped static-balanced tonearm delivers precise tracking, supported by adjustable anti-skating and height adjustment. Newly designed insulators at the feet further improve resistance to external vibration. A built-in MM phonostage provides the option of line-level output for direct connection to powered speakers or integrated amps, or can be bypassed to use your own external phonostage.
Supplied pre-mounted with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, the SL-50C is ready to play straight out of the box. Its combination of engineering pedigree, practical convenience, and musical performance makes it an accessible entry into the Technics direct-drive tradition.
